The new stadium is built on the site of the old Green Point Stadium.

Cape Town Stadium will host 8 matches in the FIFA World Cup finals in 2010. The matches will take place between 11 June and 11 July - and includes 1 Quarter-final and Semi-final game, in soccer’s greatest event on the planet!
